Holistic leadership practice mindfulness in mind and body attempting to maintain balance both personally and professionally. Holistic leaders believe they are defined by who they are, not what they do. Holistic leaders often focus on unity with other, developing and becoming self, expression full potential and serving others. While the holistic leader is defined by who they are, the wholisitic leader is living from their awakened soul and has an inner knowing to live on purpose.
Wholistic Leader (WL)
Is defined by their awakened soul, mindfulness, and conscious awareness of living with purpose to expand global consciousness and awareness. WL integrates their awakened soul (to make meaning of one’s existence in the world as described by James Hillman) into all areas of their life. They embrace the whole person concept (values, beliefs, mind, body, and soul) by leading from the inside-out. They practice mindfulness and conscious awareness in all areas at all times. For example, they practice meditation and mindfulness at work as well as at home. The WL is authentic brining his/her whole self into all environments and situations, often refusing to “sell out” their soul to please another.
The WL speaks from the heart and engages the workforce and community as if they were part of their family. These leaders effortlessly contribute time, money and other resources to support programs or organizations that promote mindfulness health and welling. They are consciously aware and tend to focus on the greater good of humanity. WL leaders view employees as an extension of their family and will create an atmosphere to support work life balance with equitable pay while still making a profit and achieving organizational goals.
WL practices global consciousness by taking mindful actions to support and restore the environment with lean and green processes and products. WL will apply conscious economics by being mindful with production, consumption and waste. They value their workforce, venders, and contractors and focus on integrity over profit. They seek partnerships that practice mindfulness and respect the earth, people, and the global economy.
The Wholistic leader is a new set of leaders who are determined to live from the soul while focusing on global oneness, respecting humanity, animals, and the environment.
